Chicago’s One Two Pru achieves high wellness standards with renewed WELL Health-Safety Rating and RESET Air Certification
AUGUST 2, 2022
Leading diversified professional services and investment management company, Colliers and Wanxiang America Real Estate Group announced that One Two Pru, the two-tower landmark office and retail complex in Chicago’s East Loop, has been renewed for its WELL Health-Safety Rating and, for the second consecutive year, has achieved RESETTM Air Certification for Core and Shell (CS).
Certified by the International WELL Building Institute (IWBI), the WELL Health-Safety Rating is an evidence-based, third-party rating system that assesses the integrity of a commercial property’s operational procedures as it relates to reducing the risk of virus transmission and preparing for a healthy and safe return-to-office experience. RESET Air is the world’s first sensor-based, performance-driven building certification program where indoor air quality (IAQ) is monitored and measured in real-time. When One Two Pru first achieved RESET Air Certification in 2021, it became the largest commercial building in the world to achieve certification and remains as such today.
RESET Air standardizes the continuous monitoring requirements of air quality in built environments and makes visible the invisible factor that impacts all indoor spaces in regards to health, productivity, and sustainability. RESET Air for CS, specifically, tracks and communicates the health performance of entire buildings to prospective tenants. Real-time results help owners attract better tenants, maintain asset value and reduce the potential liability associated with underperforming buildings. In order to achieve and maintain RESET Air certification, a building must continually report key air quality metrics in real-time and demonstrate that it performs within the most rigorous thresholds in the commercial real estate industry, as prescribed in the RESET Air Standard. The benefits of continually monitoring the building’s air quality data include allowing the operations and maintenance teams to continuously review and recognize system patterns, react to anomalies, and take steps to further enhance building health and performance.
Building air quality has a dramatic effect on thermal comfort, energy effectiveness, the health and cognitive function of building occupants, and also the bottom line of employers. According to RESET, utilizing the standard provides a tangible return on investment for tenants by increasing both the productivity and the decision-making capabilities of office users.
One Two Pru occupants are able to view building performance data in real-time on One Two Pru’s Live Air Quality Dashboard (One Two PRU Live Air Quality Dashboard), which will also be displayed in the lobby of the building.
Similarly focused on the quality of the workplace environment, the WELL Health-Safety Rating helps organizations and business facilities address the health, safety and well-being of their most valuable asset—people. The evidence-based, third-party verified rating was developed to empower organizations to prioritize the health and safety of their people during COVID-19 and beyond. The rating includes strategies to keep spaces clean and sanitized, provide essential health benefits and services, communicate health and safety efforts, prepare for an emergency and assess air and water quality.
